Just Believe & Keep Moving Forward
In one moment I had all the feelings.
And my impending college graduation coming up quick.
At orientation for college, I had no idea what I wanted to do for “the rest of my life”. So I looked at the list of majors and picked what sounded like the most fun for the next four years.
The problem was, right before I graduated, the economy tanked. I couldn’t get a job in the field I had just spent the last four years training for.
A conversation with my mom one afternoon about job prospects left me with a new perspective.
I had had no success with the jobs I applied for and a lot companies were on hiring freezes. It seemed as if one door after another was closing. I did have one opportunity from a friend but it literally paid nothing, except providing a place to live. (That’s a dream, huh?)
She said, “You’ll figure it out, just believe, and keep taking the next step.”
After a few days of hearing that over and over in my head I realized the whole world was open to me. There was no expected path. No job or way that I HAD to take. To me that looked like freedom!
What did I really want to do? What would I do if I could do ANYTHING?
Because when there is nothing, ANYTHING is possible. I got so excited!
I ended up taking the job from my friend (it was the next…read: only...step), it ended up being a three year (low) paying job. But it gave me time and opportunity to figure out what it was that I was really passionate about...
Helping and inspiring women to be doers, not just dreamers.
When the idea of Free To Be came to me I didn’t know what to do with it. That was two years ago.
Recently, I decided I needed to figure it out or drop it.
I decided to figure it out, so, hey girl, welcome to the Free To Be tribe.
I hope you’ll stick around because it’s gonna be fun!
<<< That's me, Danielle, over there cheesin' (pretty much, always.)
I’ll be here to encourage and inspire, for sure, but also to give you practical steps, resources and coaching to figure out what is the next step you need to take and how.
Here’s my mantra for Free To Be: Helping women to know themselves better and create a strategy to courageously pursue their passions.
Thanks for joining me on this journey! I am beyond excited you’re here!
