Sometimes I feel a little crazy, too.
Do you feel like your goals are completely out of reach?
Do you ever feel like you might be a little crazy?
Is there something that has been at the back of your mind tagged “someday”?
Girl, I understand!
Dreaming is like creativity. The more you lean into and practice it the more it’s shows up in your life.
I’ve had big dreams, some I’ve gone for and some I let go of. New ones come and a few old ones linger.
One time I moved to New York City, simply because it was something I had dreamed about for years, only to realize it was not where I was supposed to be at the time. But the thing is, I did it. I may not have been there very long and it was a little embarrassing to come back after talking about it SO much. But here I am almost 6 years later and I don’t regret it one bit.
If I hadn’t have gone I would still be trying to get there. It opened up more dreams, I felt more comfortable taking risks because I realized failure wasn’t the end. Failure gave me new beginnings.
Choose to go for something you feel you were created to do over the fear of embarrassment or being wrong. Embarrassment doesn’t last or define you. You’ll never be right all the time. So take the risk.
I will say be smart about it. I had saved money, and had a friend I met to live with for at least a month. As Jon Acuff says in Start, “You have to be a realist and a dreamer, practical and impractical, logical and illogical. You have to be brutally realistic about your present circumstances and wildly unrealistic about your future circumstances.”
Because this is often the tension I live in I feel crazy sometimes. Thought’s like, “these dreams I have are a little outrageous,” or “who am I anyways to accomplish something like that?”
Every dreamer, if not every human, deals with this. And it’s a lie.
You’re not crazy.
You’re ability and limits reach far beyond what you can imagine.
It is for you to do, or at least try.
What is your dream? What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?
I want to help you get there!
1. What are 5 things that bring you joy?
2. How can you add at least 2 of those to your calendar this month? (Actually put them on your calendar)
3. Make them priorities.
