How to Make Your Vision into Obtainable Goals

Now it’s time to set your goals!

Remember goal-setting is an on going process. There will be times you do something you think will move you forward and it doesn’t, things won’t go as planned, or you'll just outright fail.

All of that is ok.

Remember, keep moving forward.

Through every job I have worked I’ve known I wanted to do something that directly impacted people’s lives and enjoy time with my friends and family. (Note: This is NOT my whole vision, it is much longer and specific. But this summary will do for now)

But the question is, how do I do that? How do from here to there without major overwhelm?

The good news is you only have to take one step at a time. You don’t have to know all of the steps, here is one way to start making your vision a reality.

  1. Pull 3-5 large goals out of your vision

Example: Own my own business that directly impacts people’s lives

  2. Make 1-3 beginning steps (read: bite size) for that goal

Ask yourself, what is something I can do this week to move me toward this goal? This should get you started. From here you will be able to continue to create steps forward.

Sometimes, it’s easier to work backwards from your goal, as long as you come up with something you can do in the next 5-7 days.

  3. Put the FIRST step of each goal on your calendar

At first, it may not feel like your doing much to move forward but over time will gain capacity to schedule more and B. when you look back, you’ll see progress which will help you keep moving forward.

    Repeat steps 2 & 3
